THE DIG
Where: This year our Dig will be hosted by Jolly Steffenhagen at the Steffenhagen Farm, 32300 Hill Avenue Trail, Red Wing, MN 55066.
When: The Dig will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2017. We'll start at 10:00 a.m. Please have all plants at Jolly’s by 12:00 noon!
We need all the help we can get!
Please volunteer even if you only have a limited amount of time to spare on Saturday afternoon. The Dig is a great way to meet the members of our club and make some new friends or greet some old ones. Refreshments will be served.
Please donate daylilies for the sale!
We need all the plants we can get to make the sale a profitable one for our club. Plants to the public sell best in the $5 to $20 range; save your more expensive plants for the Auction and Banquet in August.
- Plants need to be of named varieties; please, no seedlings or unknown plants.
- Make sure you mark your plants and/or containers well when you bring them so they can be accurately labeled for the Sale.
- Plants will be cleaned and divided at the Dig, but any cleaning you can do beforehand is greatly appreciated.
- Send your list of donated plants to Jenn as early as possible. Deadline to submit your list is Monday, May 16, so I have time to make the labels. It will help if you can let Jenn know how many divisions you will have of each variety.
- If you have pictures of your plants, please send them to Jenn Lanz ahead of time.
THE SALE
Our Sale will be in the Heritage Room at Bachman’s Floral Gift & Garden, 6010 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis MN 55419, on Sunday, May 21, 2017.
Volunteering for the Sale will begin at 8 a.m. for setup.
Our Sale opens to the public at 9 a.m. and goes until 2:30 p.m., or until we sell out of plants. Clean up takes about one hour after the sale ends.
Another perk of volunteering either of these days is that you get first chance at getting some new daylilies for your garden—and a discount on them as well!
