Guest Speaker: JULIE COVINGTON
Past-President of AHS from Roanoke, Virginia
“Tiny Jewels in the Garden”
Julie comes to us from Roanoke, Virginia, where she taught music for 34 years after earning a Master’s in Music Education from Radford University. Her daylily gardening hobby led her to join her local club, and she soon joined AHS.
With years of leadership experience in education under her belt, Julie was ready and willing to serve in numerous roles in AHS. She became an AHS Garden Judge and Instructor, an Exhibition Judge, and she attended many Regional meetings and National AHS Conventions. Julie served as AHS Vice-President, and then as AHS President from 2012 through 2015. DSM members may remember Julie from our AHS National Convention in 2013!

“Planting Flowers with Photography in Mind”
Up and coming hybridizer Kathleen Nordstrom, formerly of Bismarck (ND), now pursues her daylily passion at Northern Lights Daylilies in West Concord, MN.
Kathleen’s travels have taken her to stellar daylily gardens across the country, with camera in hand. Kathleen will share some of her photos and talk about planning ahead so your flower photos will turn out great.
